We went over to Millport as a small group. This included my mum and I and my support worker Terri, we went over for the day to explore the island. We visited the Garrison House for a cup of coffee and hot chocolate and to use the accessible toilet. This is a council owned building and is the only building at the moment with a standard accessible toilet. A new changing places toilet has just been added in the grounds of the Garrison House.

There is a pathway over to the Garrison and then the entrance to the café is state free. The accessible toilet is in the corner at the back of the café. You have to go through an initial door from the coffee to then get to a corridor to access the toilet door. The actual café area is very large and spacious, but can get quite cramped when it's busy.

Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance, Wheelchair-accessible food and beverage outlet

I travelled to this place by boat

I didn't see any specific parking spaces that were accessible.

Accessible toilet is quite small and has a left hand side transfer. I think it's quite close to the toilet, and there is no read Emergency Cord. There are plenty of grab rails. The pulldown handrail next to the toilet is quite wobbly, so please be careful if you're using it. There is now an accessible changing places toilet in the grounds of the Garrison house

Staff seemed a bit annoyed that I was wanting to use the accessible toilet and also wanted to buy food and drink afterwards as the café was close to closing time. This made my visit, quite unpleasant.
