Aberdeen International Airport is located in Dyce, a suburb of Aberdeen, approximately 5 miles from the City Centre. Aberdeen is the north east gateway to the world, flying to over 50 destinations and serving over 3 million passengers a year. The airport is currently transforming its passenger facilities increasing the size of the terminal by 50%. A larger and enhanced Security search area is due to be completed by summer 2018 along with new and exciting retail and catering facilities. The final phase of the project will be complete by 2019. The Airport is fully committed to being an inclusive and accessible environment and works closely with many disability organisations to enhance the service and facilities that are provided.

    Aberdeen Airport Assistance

The staff were really friendly and helpful. They made me feel very welcome and supported me along the way. The airport also had the use of a manual wheelchair which was useful if I wanted to take myself off to a toilet. I liked that after security the team offered to take me on a route through the duty free shops which is something that wasn't offered at Heathrow and some other UK shops. I have felt previously that I would have liked to have seen the shops and this was a great idea. The team also left me in a restaurant and reassured me the time they would pick me up. They also found the restaurant manager so I didn't have to go up to the bar and order. Above and beyond! The only thing I would say that the disabled toilet didn't have a powered door. Therefore, it made it slightly difficult manoeuvring in and out of the toilet with a wheelchair.
