    Outstanding!

The Ashmolean Museum is is the University of Oxford’s largest museum. The museum is very accessible throughout and has a fascinating collection. This is a review of my visit to see the Colour Revolution, Victorian Art, Fashion and Design which is on until 18 February 2024. The exhibition traces the development of new colour pigments and how their use in fabrics, clothing, paintings, stained glass, wallpaper and object d' art impacted on Victorian fashions. The exhibition is fascinating and bright. The exhibition can be enjoyed for its insight and knowledge or you can just enjoy the beautiful, colourful objects. I loved the exhibition. I also visited their excellent rooftop restaurant during my visit.

Step free museum with an outstanding collection and extremely helpful staff

The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology. The collection is especially strong on antiquities and art. The main museum has free admission but there is a charge for special exhibitions. There is a self service café on the lower ground floor and a roof top restaurant on the 4th floor. I visited specifically to see the Last Supper in Pompeii exhibition which is on until 12 January 2020.

Good museum but lifts could be better.

The exhibits are interesting and at a good height for wheelchairs. The lifts don't seem to prioritise who pressed first and there aren't accessible loos on every floor, so you can end up waiting a long time when busy. Rooftop restaurant and basement café with lifts.
