BEAM is a creative arts and culture venue situated in the heart of Hertford town centre. Located on the site of the previous Hertford Theatre, BEAM continues the legacy of bringing high quality entertainment and arts to the town, whilst growing to also offer brand new first-release films, a new, flexible studio theatre, community facilities including a Changing Place and a variety of public spaces to work, socialise or just relax in. We are proud to be a fully accessible and step-free venue.

Our entire site has level access throughout. There is level access from the main entrance to: – Stage One and Two – Screen’s One, Two and Three – Social One and Two – Bar and Cafe Area – Ticketing Kiosks – Ground Floor Bar – First Floor Bar – Main Foyer Toilets • We have a dedicated viewing areas for wheelchair users in our Theatre spaces and Cinema spaces. Hearing • The fire alarm has flashing lights. • We have a hearing loop in Stage One and Stage Two and have multiple subtitled films and plays in our season. • All permanent staff have disability awareness training. Some staff have BSL training, and our ticketing team have Next Generation Text training. Visual • Glass doors have contrast markings. • The walls and the doors have high colour contrast. • Some parts of the venue have low lighting. • Menus, and some programmes have a large print format available. • We have display information in audio and large print. • There is audio descriptive commentary and headsets upon request. General • We have a complimentary ticket policy for personal assistants/essential companions.
