Beamsley Project

We have been to Beamsley Project for many years now for our annual Buddhist retreat. We love the location, facilities and friendly supportive staff. The first floor hall is ideal for teachings and led meditations. There is plenty of space for our group, which is usually around 16 - 20. When we have had more we have hired the attached cottage too. The centre is always clean and welcoming. We love that we can bring our own catering team to use the kitchen facilities too. Chrissie - Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds

Although the centre is set up for group holidays we booked it for a family gathering for a week and we’re very impressed. So many accessible venues and accommodation do not really cater for those with severe disabilities like our granddaughter but this surpassed our expectations. Not only were there 2 profiling beds but also hoists, wet rooms and change table, adjustable shower chairs etc as well as a lift and fully accessible accommodation and gardens. The attention to detail was amazing. Lounges and games rooms were beautifully furnished and equipped, the catering size kitchen had adjustable units and excellent facilities as well as all the different sorts of equipment, dishes, crockery etc you could need for all ages and needs. There were even baby alarms provided should you need them and good laundry facilities, spare linen etc. The staff were very helpful, informative and welcoming, both before our visit and on arrival, going out of their way to make our stay a really good one. The setting is beautiful and we were even provided with passes to the Bolton Abbey estate. Would definitely recommend this amazing place for group or family holidays.

Honestly, the Beamsley project was amazing. With 1 wheelchair user and 1 elderly family member with mobility problems, this was ideal. They were free to move everywhere and there was enough room for us all to have space, young and old. It was warm and clean and comfortable. The kitchen was great for preparing dinner for 20. The welcome was lovely too, very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back. Better than home!
