Care Home Short Breaks Service for Older People

City of Edinburgh Council has a centralised booking service which enables short breaks to be booked either individually or as a series over the year. We need to make sure that the people with the most pressing needs can get a service and this we do by setting eligibility criteria. Who can get a short break? Any unpaid carer (spouse, relative, friend, neighbour) who provides substantial practical and/or emotional support to an older person living in the community and who needs a break from caring.
