Self-catering cottage with full wheelchair access in the beautiful north Shropshire countryside, converted in 2016 from unused brick-built cheese storage building on our working farm and designed for a disabled guest with accompanying family member, friend or carer. The cottage is 14 miles north of the medieval county town of Shrewsbury, 30 miles south of Chester and only 10 miles from the Welsh border. There is gorgeous countryside and plenty of places to visit - if you have never visited Shropshire before, prepare to be enchanted! Facilities include level access ground floor with no steps and extra wide doors throughout, large living room with kitchen and dining areas, wet room, double bedroom with electric twin beds/superking bed, first-floor bedroom with single bed for friend/carer. Dogs welcome - fully enclosed paved yard to front of cottage.

Ground floor all on one level with extra wide doors (850mm). Hallway with living room, wet room and main bedroom off. Large living area with wood-burning stove, two-seater sofa, electric riser/recliner chair, wi-fi, wall-mounted TV/DVD and bookshelves, French doors to paved seating area with flower tubs; kitchen area has built-in fridge/freezer box, wheelchair-accessible single sink with drainer, cupboards with pull out/pull down shelves, wheelchair accessible electric touch-control induction hob and combination fan oven/grill/microwave; dining area has small square dining table with wheelchair access underneath and three dining chairs. Main bedroom has built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers allowing full wheelchair access to the two electric single beds which can be clipped together to make a superking bed, wall-mounted TV, bed raisers can be provided to raise beds to fit hoist underneath (can be hired from local company which delivers and collects). Wet room has non-slip flooring, thermostatically-controlled shower with wall-mounted circular head and hand shower attachment, wall-mounted shower seat with padded backrest and arms, wheelchair-height washbasin, comfort-height toilet with folding support rails on both sides for right or left wheelchair transfer, heated towel rail, built-in washing machine/drier. Single room upstairs for family member/friend/carer has single bed, vanity unit with washbasin, clothes handing rail,TV, radiator, velux-style window. Dogs welcome - fully enclosed paved yard with 3' 8" high wooden fence surrounding and wide wooden access gate (7' 8" width).
