Located half-way between Edinburgh and Glasgow this much-loved 4 STAR detached cottage woos wheelchair-users from the moment they alight on flagstones right beside their front door and go inside to check out the excellent interior's manoeuvrability and facilities . 3 bedroomed with 2+ bathrooms, one of which is a wet room with a good turning circle , Steading Cottage is fully described on the owner's website, www.crosswoodhill.co.uk . accessible self catering cottage, steading

We visited with the family (2 teenagers, 2 adults including 1 powered chair user). Close to a road and next to a barn so you will need to be able to cope with the smell of the country when outside. Near Edinburgh and Glasgow but the surrounding countryside is nice. Pleasant visit to Peebles.

Exclusive parking right in front of the front door.Level access throughout the ground floor which is either tiled or timber flooring. Any rugs can be easily lifted and stored. Dinig table height can be raised if necessary. Kitchen area is not ideal for wheelchair users because of levels and the need to reverse in and out. Bathrooms has a good turning circle, support rails, shower chair and raised toilet seat on request and a wheel-in shower area. 2 bedrooms downstairs, a single and a kingsize ideal for those with mobility problems. Family room upstairs is not suitable for non-stair climbers.
