Our library is accessible through two entrances, one on Drum Brae Drive and one on Rannoch Terrace. Both entrances are step free and consist of two sets of automatic double doors. For the North entrance both sets of doors open outwards towards the street, while for the South entrance the first set open inwards towards the library and the second opens outwards towards the street. In between the two doors there's a carpeted and covered area. The building is on two floors. All the fire exits are placed on the bottom floor and are step-free. The bottom floor has an even carpeted floor and it includes a mezzanine area accessible through 5 steps or a ramp. There are two ungendered toilets in the mezzanine area which include a toilet, a sink, and an electric hand-dryer. One of the toilets is accessible and it includes an alarm, baby-changing facilities and a grab rails. On our ground floor we have the welcome desk on the right hand side when entering from the North entrance. Our first floor is accessible through a staircase consisting of 18 steps, divided into two 9 steps sections, with hand rails on both sides. There is also a lift which can be accessed through a ramp and by going through a set of double push doors. The elevator on the second floor opens onto a corridor that connects it to the main area through a PUSH single door. Upstairs we have our main adult stock. On the far side of the floor we have 4 PCs with rolling chairs, and large table with four rolling chairs. On the near side we have two tables with three chairs each, and a McMillian information cancer point with free resources about living with cancer with some comfy chairs nearby. We also have 6 padded chairs with armrests scattered around the floor.
