    Paradise for cake lovers

The garden centre is very friendly and welcoming towards those will physical or mental disabilities. No steps to negotiate, wide aisles in the garden centre and in the restaurant. Plenty of room to manoeuvre even the largest wheelchair. Staff are very accommodating and will move chairs a tables to fit your family in. First pick your table and note the number. Then order at the counter. The queue leaves you standing in front of amazing cakes, scones and tray bakes. Lovely sandwiches and some hot food on offer. The lentil soup is soooo good. Staff will bring the food to your table. If you need help to collect cutlery or carry drinks, simply ask staff to help. Toilets are clean, spacious and there is a separate disabled toilet where the red cord reaches the floor … if you need it. The location is superb! It’s just off the A1 so whether you’re travelling up to Scotland or down to England, it’s a great location to stop. There is a Marsden Hotel if you need to stay overnight. An Asda, McDonald’s, petrol station and of course the garden centre who have an enormous car park with good amount of disabled spaces. Coming soon will be Lidl, Costa, B&M and M&S. Though it will take time for the retail park to be built. A 10 minute drive towards Dunbar will take your breath away as you watch the North Sea rolling in . Take a stop at the old fashioned sweetie shop which comes complete with a wheelchair Ramp. There are only two disabled parking spaces on the high street and another two near the end of the High st., next to the post office. In my opinion, stopping of to shop, rest or eat in the garden centre as a disabled person , is an absolute joy.

Large garden centre with good surfaces, both inside and out.

We visited on a rainy day and there was plenty to look at, inside and out, as well as a spacious cafe.
