Assisted travel

Met from the plane by a lovely lady and an ambulift. She wheeled me out of the airport all the way to the cab rank. Waited until I was settled in the airport. Same lady met me on my return journey. Same excellent attention.

Sweet little airport

This is a tiny little airport, great if you have trouble walking to far away gates, there's nowhere to walk to here, just one waiting area with 3 boarding doors. You can move around independently until your flight if you choose to, and if you are waiting with the assistance staff you will be in the same area with the same information as other passengers. The downside is that there's next to nothing to do, and should you have a flight after about 8pm there is no refreshment available. Flipside of the small size is it's a horrible place to have to wait for a delayed flight, very claustrophobic.

Assistance call points are located in the drop-off area in the short stay car park, at the assistance desk in the terminal and in the designated assistance area in departures. The airport is a fully accessible environment with ramps and lifts provided where required. Toilets features at George Best Belfast City Airport

All toilets on the premise are accessible without steps, in addition to having easy to move locks and taps. There are grab rails situated in the disabled bathrooms and these doors are wide enough for a wheelchair to enter. We have also added signage to the doors of all of our disabled toilets in line with a campaign being run by Crohns and Colitis UK to show that not all disabilities are visible.
