She bequeathed her estate, “Homelands”, to charity to establish and maintain a facility to enable people affected by a range of disabling conditions to have a holiday or a break from living daily with a disability, long-term condition or life-limiting illness. There are nine self-catering lodges set in the peaceful grounds of Homelands, and with magnificent views over Lundin Golf Course across the Firth of Forth to the Lothians. There is also a drop-in community centre, called the Paxton Centre. It has five therapy/ general purpose rooms, a kitchen area, open plan reception, disabled toilet facilities, and a handyman’s/ gardener’s storage area.
