The Howgate Shopping Centre is a community shopping centre located on Falkirk High Street, next to the iconic Steeple. Free wheelchair hire is available at our Help Desk where you will also find a hearing loop. The Help Desk is located next to Costa Coffee and manned from 11am-2pm with a help phone available when unmanned. The centre offers Sensory Shopping between 11am-5pm on the first Sunday of every month and Autism friendly guides are available to download on our website or collect at our Help Desk. Centre staff are trained in sighted guiding, basic sign language, Alzheimer's awareness and autism awareness training. Could be more autism friendly

Very nice shopping center staff are really friendly only issue is there are no autism awareness cards to pick up from the help desk like stated on the website. Nor do they come on very sificiant lanyards. I feel a quiet or sensory from in the center would be of benifit as the center can be very overwhelming

once again, good access to the shopping centre but dreadful access to the shops

Lifts from the car park. Disabled parking available in the multi-storey attached to the shopping centre, but expensive and no extra time given to blue badges. Flat level access around centre, but most shops inaccessible with a wheelchair due to the amount of display stands crammed into them. BE WARNED: you only have 10 minutes from paying for your car parking at the meters in the centre to get out of the car park.

As the shops are on street level, customers can access the Mall from either the High Street or Pleasance entrance where there is also a taxi drop off zone. If using our car park, access to the shops is via customer lifts.

Disabled parking is available in our multi story car park with larger parking bays and automatic doors. There are a number of free disabled parking bays just outside the centre. The centre does not offer free parking but 3 hours is £1.50, a list of tariffs are on our website. One you pay for your parking the ticket is valid for 10 mins to exit the car park. If you require longer, simply press the call button at the exit barrier and this will be lifted for you at no extra charge.

Toilets features at Howgate Shopping Centre

There are a number of disabled toilets located throughout the centre. There is only 1 toilet that requires a radar key, the rest are accessible at all times. They are wide enough for wheelchairs and scooters and all have hand rails and emergency cords.
