    Colonies of bats may fly around the castle's twin tower houses, but legend holds that a love - struck maiden once made the perilous leap between them. Find out more as you explore the many rooms of this complete castle, which boasts a fabulous painted ceiling of the 1500s, depicting strange beasts and monsters. Opening times 29 Mar to 30 Sept: Daily, 10am to 4.30pm (last entry 4pm). Closed for lunch 12.30pm to 1pm. 1 Oct to 28 Mar: Daily except Thur and Fri, 10am to 4pm (last entry 3.30pm). Closed for lunch 12.30pm to 1pm. We recommend booking online to guarantee entry
