aboutSectionText

Situated up on Hope Street, between the two cathedrals, the new Everyman opened in March 2014 to great acclaim from audiences and critics, winning the 2014 RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture. Accessible and environmentally sustainable, the new theatre combines the trademark wrap-around auditorium and basement bistro with many new facilities. Light, open front-of-house spaces and a pavement café; rehearsal and workshop facilities; a dedicated space for our work with young people and community groups, and a workspace for writers allows the whole building to be a vibrant, creative hub, by day and night. And a beautiful façade, representing the people of Liverpool, expresses the fact that this is truly an Everyman for everyone.

Just popped in for a tea

Easy off street access, and plenty of space for the wheelchair. Staff very helpful, they have a couple of accessible toilets and a changing place. Was shown down in the lift and across the Bistro to the Changing place. The tea was good too, everything from green tea to earl grey.

The Everyman has lift access to all floors. We have wheelchair spaces in the theatre itself at both levels. As well as seats that are wider than the old theatre, we also have a few taller seats and some with moveable armrests. There are six accessible toilets in the public areas including a Changing Place.
