Social Groups are for people over the age of 16 at the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum, such as those with Asperger syndrome (AS). The groups are facilitated by a Social Programmes Manager who is responsible for a number of groups in their area. Social Groups are membership groups which meet one evening a month, and activities are discussed. Activities can include going to the cinema, wall climbing, speed boat trips, meeting up in the pub for a drink, going for a meal, visiting a museum, or meeting up as a group for a chat or to play board games.
