Netherurd Garden House

Netherurd was perfect for our needs. Very well designed and accessible. We were able to go around the grounds in the wheelchair no problem. The staff members Kim & Ellie were great. They couldn't do enough for us. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. So many small things like when we arrived I went in to book in gets keys & room location etc. Ellie introduced herself & welcomed me. Kim also came out & welcomed me. I said my partner is in the car and Kim went straight out to welcome her & keep her company while Ellie showed me to our room. They asked us what we needed & could they help us in with our luggage etc. We have never had anyone do this & it showed a real understanding of possible needs. Just a small thing makes a huge difference. We asked for extra pillows and they both turned up with pillows to make sure we had enough to be comfortable. The room was spacious and the underfloor heating was great. The room was a comfortable temperature throughout the our stay. The view from the room was great. We were able to relax and watch nature from the comfort of our room. Netherurd has chickens who room the grounds during the day & who are very friendly and entertaining to watch. It is the ideal place to relax with great staff. You couldn't ask for better. A short drive through the country side and we were at Peebles or Biggar.

Myself (wheelchair user) and a friend stayed for a couple of nights at Netherurd recently. Jade, the manager, gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the building . With 18 bedrooms and communal areas, this is set up so well for large groups and families to enjoy . The accommodation is really lovely. The decor is tasteful and has a brand-new feel to it. Everything has been made wheelchair accessible throughout. We stayed in the interconnecting apartments. My room had lots of space and equipment including hoist as well as a large, well kitted out wet room . My friend stayed in the next door room, joined by a connecting door, with twin/double bed and its own shower room. Both rooms have a microwave, fridge, utensils etc. lovely Jade had even put pancakes and strawberries in the fridge for our arrival on pancake day!

We booked a few nights in a one bedroom apartments in Netherurd and had a great holiday. The staff are very friendly and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. There are eighteen apartments in total, four of which are one bedroom apartments, two are adaptable interconnecting rooms with electric hoists and rise and fall beds, the rest are spacious studios. All accommodation is wheelchair accessible with lots of turning space and a sizeable wet room shower. All have a small kitchen area and there is access to a larger kitchen and washing facility on each wing. There is good wifi and tv but my favourite pass time was enjoying the stunning views and the huge enclosed garden which is also wheelchair accessible. Netherurd is set in a convenient location for visits to Peebles which has some really good restaurants and cafes as well as a lovely riverside walk. Biggar is also close by and a nice place to visit for an afternoon but the Netherurd estate has lots of scope for gentle walks without having to use the car. Unlike many self catering facilities you can book just one night or two or longer if you wish. I would highly recommend this facility.
