The Newman Brothers Coffin Works factory is a rare and wonderfully preserved example of Victorian Engineering. Experience a time capsule, with its working machinery and unusual products - coffin handles and ornaments, linings and shrouds - left on the shelves and workbenches when the workforce set down their tools and left for the very last time. Our guides will lead you around the factory where you will experience the sights, sounds and smells of factory life and hear stories about workers, owners and trades. Tours last approximately 1 hour. There is lift access to all areas of the museum. Assistance Dogs welcome. BSL and subtitled digital guidebooks available at all times. Our Relaxed experience is a factory tour which has been designed specifically for people on the Autistic Spectrum and their families, and suitable also for people with a learning disability or sensory and communication disorder. The Relaxed tours run once a month and must be pre-booked, see our website for dates and details (http://www.coffinworks.org/newmanbros/visit/relaxed/).

There are two Disabled parking bays for Blue Badge holders located on Fleet Street, to the right of the main entrance to Newman Brothers.

Toilets features at Newman Brothers Coffin Works

There is one accessible toilet in the museum on the ground floor level with an integrated emergency assistance alarm, as well as a flashing-light evacuation sensor, alerting people who may not hear evacuation warnings to exit the building. Also located in here is our parent and child facilities offering absolute privacy.
