Both sites have step-free access and lifts to all floors. At Modern Two, there is an accessible, step-free entrance at the rear of the building next to accessible parking spaces; visitors may press a buzzer for assistance. At Modern One there is a ramp with rails to the front door where a member of staff will be able to assist. At Modern One, in addition to the main lift there is a platform lift which gives access to upper rooms 20 & 21. The lift door is 720mm wide. To use the lift, visitors are requested to speak to a member of staff who can assist, there is a sign on the lift door to indicate this.

We have accessible parking spaces at both Modern One and Modern Two for blue badge holders. Parking is free for disabled visitors. At Modern One, there are four disabled parking bays at the front of the building beside the step-free main entrance, and two disabled parking bays in the main car park to the rear of the building next to the Changing Places toilet. There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. Modern One is equipped with two electric car charging points, trickle charge only (as opposed to fast charge). At Modern Two, there are four disabled parking bays at the rear of the building directly beside the accessible (step-free) entrance. The drop-off point is also to the rear of the Modern Two building adjacent to the accessible entrance and accessible parking.

Toilets features at Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art

There are two accessible toilets at Modern One. On level 0 the accessible toilet door is 830mm wide, it is a narrow space some wheelchair-users may find turning a challenge. On level 1 the accessible toilet door is 880mm wide, this is a larger toilet. There is one accessible toilet Modern Two. The accessible toilet door is 780mm wide. There is a full Changing Places Toilet in the car park behind Modern One that is open every day from 9.45am - 5.30pm, a key is not required.
