The Jolly Botanist

The Jolly Botanist is a lovely gin bar is located close to Haymarket station on Morrison Street in the West End of Edinburgh. The venue is almost perfect except for the small step at the entrance which would be ok for accompanied wheelchair users but difficult for power chair users. The staff were pretty friendly but said that they did not have a ramp and there did not seem to be a plan to get one.

The only real issue is that they have a step at the front entrance, which was okay for us as I was able to bump Paul's chair up as it's a light manual one. Also the staff saw us coming and came to hold the door open. I asked if they had a ramp they could use for electric wheelchairs and was informed that they had ordered it and we're just waiting on it arriving.
