    aboutSectionText

The Oaksmere has a long and illustrious history. The Cornwallis family were responsible for the construction of the Dower House, part of historic Brome Hall, back in 1574 during the reign of Elizabeth I. This now forms the Tudor wing of the present hotel, with its original beams and period charm.

Perfect luxury hotel & disabled facilities

The room is on the ground floor close to car parking space so easy to unload/pack up (I am a 'carer' for my ex-husband who cannot lift/pack etc for himself). The room & bathroom are very spacious with grab rails that can be moved closer or higher and pleanty of space to wheel a large chair around. Lovely rain shower with seat. The loo was high enough to enable getting on/off without difficulty. There is a little 'terrace' with 2 seats which looks onto a lovely vegetable garden with lots of sunflowers/courgettes, herbs, fruit bushes & trees. It is only a short walk to the dining room. Staff very quick to help with any questions/problems.
