Tollcross International Swimming Centre is a swimming pool and leisure centre located in Glasgow which will host the swimming events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The Glasgow City Council-owned swimming pool has been refurbished and extended to include a new 50m, six-lane training and warm-up pool alongside its existing 50m, ten-lane pool. In addition, there is a spectator gallery, cafe, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, sports halls, fitness suite, function halls, meeting rooms.

brilliant venue

This venue is brilliant they have done it up recently and its brilliant location Staff are very nice and friendly always on hand if you need any help

Very Accessible

There is not level access into the venue but there is a ramp. The main doors are double width and open automatically. There is level access from the changing area to the swimming pool and there is a wet side chair available. There are 5 steps with a ladder type entrance with a handrail into the water in both the training and main pool.There is no hoist but there is a wet side chair pool pods are available. The fitness suite has level access but not all equipment has level access. IFI accredited gym equipment is available e.g.treadmill and recumbent cycle.

There are 10+ designated parking bay(s) . The dimensions of the bay(s) are 370cm x 650cm (12ft 2in x 21ft 4in). The nearest designated bay is 15m (16yd) from the main entrance and the furthest is 41m (45yd) from the entrance. The route from the car park to the entrance is accessible to a wheelchair user with assistance which may be required because there is / are slopes/ramps. There is a dropped kerb / non stepped access from the car park to the venue which does not have tactile paving. Parking is free and is at the front of the venue.

Toilets features at Tollcross International Swimming Centre

The dimensions of the accessible toilet are 200cm x 190cm (6ft 7in x 6ft 3in). There is a lateral transfer space of 120cm (3ft 11in).and lever tap, emergency pull cord, hook behind the door, wall mounted handrails and low level sink. The dimensions of the accessible changing room are 230cm x 290cm (7ft 7in x 9ft 6in). The facilities available in the accessible changing room are a wheel in shower, handrails, a changing table and a manual hoist. There is level access to the changing room.
