Verdant Works was probably the highlight of our trip to Dundee. It tells the fascinating story of jute and mills in Dundee. One volunteer called Lily shared her experiences of working in the mill when she was a young girl - amazing! Overall access is fairly good, although it is an old building and bumpy in places.

Pretty good! There were ramps in places, lifts and accessible toilets. Lots of interactive exhibits, a fantastic tour given upon arrival and then demonstrations of the equipment by Lily. There was too much to take in in the short time that we were there. Loved everything from the tours to the dress up box with full length mirror at the very end! It was great to be able to feel the jute at the different stages of the process too. Just be aware that the ground is a little uneven on the bottom floor of the large mill room.

There is a large car park behind the museum, but it's kind of in the back streets so public transport isn't great. We walked there. The pavements are a little narrow on approach, and the entry courtyard is cobbled - but it isn't too big an area.

The toilet I saw was a little tight for space and I couldn't see an emergency cord, but it was very clean and brightly lit.

Outstanding - they really made the visit. Everyone from the staff in the shop at the ticket desk to the tour guides showing us around.

    Additional Information

Well worth a visit, and probably my favourite of the Dundee attractions we visited!
