    Wheeldon Trees Farm Holiday Cottages is a former 18th century dairy barn just outside Earl Sterndale, south of Buxton, converted to 9 holiday cottages. We are committed to providing the best possible services to all groups in the community within the limits of our properties. Sheldon Cottage which sleeps 4 is ‘wheelchair’ friendly, all on one level with a walk in wet-room. Walker's Rest sleeping 2 is all on one level and more suited to those with limited mobility rather than wheelchair users. Our other cottages all have stairs; however, we strive to meet the needs of all our guests and encourage feedback that will help us improve our facilities in the future.

    A slice of heaven!

    We stayed at The Farmhouse for 3 nights and was blown away by it’s luxury. The house was well equipped with everything you could need as well as the added special touches. Steve & Hazel have thought about everything at Wheeldon Trees, from the honesty shop packed full of necessities and goodies to the fabulous games room! The location was very peaceful with the only traffic being the cows crossing the road. Cannot wait to visit again! Wheeldon Trees have ‘Sheldon Cottage’ which is fully accessible all on one level with a wheelchair accessible wet room and disabled parking!

    In a beautiful place with amazing views and walks

    Host have tried hard to make this a pleasant place to stay. Not as quiet or private as we would have liked. The walks on the doorstep were lovely via country lanes which were very quiet. Envied able-bodied as they could access beautiful looking country walks from the site itself. Plenty of farm animals adjacent and birds kept on site to entertain us. Beds very comfortable and wet room excellent. The lighting in the sitting room is inadequate and they have tried to rectify this but we still found it hard to read in the evening. The kitchen layout is very strange and limited, which did make me feel seriously frustrated.

    Disabled Access Information for Wheeldon Trees Farm Holiday Cottages

    A tarmac ramp with rails allows step-free access to the cottage. Access to the rear enclosed patio is also step-free.

    Ample parking is available near the top entrance, 25-30m from the cottages. You are welcome to park temporarily outside your cottage to unload your luggage. The car park is on an incline and is made of gravel The car park leads into the gravelled courtyard area which has paths leading to the front doors of the cottage. The paths are from 90cm-2m wide. The courtyard and cottages are clearly visible from the car park. Disabled parking is available just opposite Sheldon Cottage. A ramp with rails leads to the front door with doors wide enough for a wheelchair.

    The wet-room in Sheldon Cottage has step-free access, grab rails and easy turn taps in the sink and shower. All doors in the cottage are wise enough for a manual or power wheelchair.
