City of Edinburgh Council Shared Lives

Shared Lives in Edinburgh is for people over 16 with a learning disability. We match people with Shared Lives carers who provide the breaks in their own homes. All our carers are assessed and supported by our team and we provide placements for short breaks and longer term care. The Shared Lives service provides an opportunity for people to stay with carers in a family environment as part of their local community. We have service users that visit carers for the occasional weekend, weeks and others that have lived with carers for many years!
