Hell Wath is an area of open, managed countryside on the outskirts of Ripon. Half the site is a designated local nature reserve. The remainder includes to garss meadow areas and playfields used by Ripon City Panthers Football Club. The site also includes a clubhouse building and also host a coffee van, Tuesday to Friday. At weekends the football club offers sausage and bacons sandwiches when the club is playing or training. There are extensive paths and routes around the site. Some are accessible by all wheelchairs and others are accessible to more robust all-terrain chairs. There are a number of log benches places around the site for those who need to have a rest or wish to stop and enjoy the view. The site is well used by dog walkers but has no cycle routes.
