Fantastic Accessible Museum with 1 Million Pounds inside!

Great Museum in an iconic place in the middle of Edinburgh's city centre with great views towards Princess Gardens. With Accessible main entrance, the whole museum is in the same level having a fair space in between walls and corridors making it easier for everybody to visit it. The museum also has Accessible toilets. Worth to be visited.

    Museum about money!

This is a really good free museum in Edinburgh. It's a small size but with just the right amount of information to make it really interesting. The museum is all on one level too which is great!

Always wanted to see a million quid!

A very interesting and well presented exhibition, great staff and very welcoming. Lost a couple of points simply becuase there's no close proximity parking ( not really their fault as the landscape doesn't really allow it ).

Museum on the Mound is committed to providing a welcoming, engaging and accessible experience for all visitors. Our team will do all they can to ensure that your visit is comfortable and enjoyable. The museum is fully accessibly to wheelchair users. There is a slight lip at the external gate (approx 2cm) then a ramp down to the main door. This will be opened by a museum guard. The displays themselves are all on one level, and our cases have been designed to let an average wheelchair fit underneath so that the visitor can get as close to the objects as possible. The accessible toilet is through a two-way swing door, with the toilet door itself opening outward. We have induction loops in our reception and temporary exhibition space. Large print guides are available. We have a visual story and sensory map available on our website to help prepare you for a visit to the Museum. We also have ear defenders and sensory bags available, as well as a quiet space. Staff are always on hand to help.
