RNIB Edinburgh & The Lothians Befriending Service

Befriending offers a supportive, reliable relationship to people who may otherwise be socially isolated. A Volunteer Befriender will meet with a client on a regular basis, generally once a fortnight. They may meet up for a chat, could help with reading mail, or perhaps go for a short walk, depending on the individual. Volunteers are recruited locally and full training is provided, including Visual Awareness, Sighted Guide, Customer Care, Confidentiality and Boundaries. .
