    aboutSectionText

Scotland Street School Museum, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1903-1906 for the School Board of Glasgow is now a museum & tells the story of 100 years of education in Scotland, from the late 19th century to the late 20th century. The building is a must see for Mackintosh fans, as a fantastic example of his architectural style. In telling the story of education during this time, Scotland Street School Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. We welcome all visitors however specific provision will be made for visitors with disabilities in terms of physical access and gallery development.

    I Spy Scotland Street School

I haven't been here for years, but after a great day out, certainly keen to go back. In an original school building (designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh), the museum gives information about the history of schooling/education and Glasgow's culture. You can walk through the school corridors, have a lesson in a classroom, play traditional games.

    Good venue

There were automatic doors at the entrance with a ramp access. There was an elevator to all floor. Some wide doorways. Signs and pictures were accessible to most. Accessible toilets. There was only one small section with stairs only access but this did not affect the overall experience. Enjoyable experience.
