Yorkshire Event Centre is an £11m multipurpose event space in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The venue is split across two versatile halls, set within beautiful, rural surroundings overlooking the Crimple Valley. We are the largest single event space in Yorkshire & the North East. Each hall has a bright & modern café and offers fabulous views across a stunning landscape. 250 acres of external space means we can offer thousands of free parking spaces, as well as lots of disabled parking. We are in the centre of the UK with easy access from the A1 and Leeds Bradford International Airport making us an ideal location for national events. The venue hosts a wide range of public facing events, from the fabulous Great Yorkshire Show and Harrogate Spring Flower Show, to the Northern Shooting Show, The Great Yorkshire Antiques Show and a fantastic Indoor Family Funfair. Please note – our venue is only open to the public when events are running. Our facilities are fully accessible to those attending Yorkshire Event Centre for an event. Please contact us to check open times and availability for access to our venue outside of event open days.

Excellent access

We were very pleased with the excellent access available at the event centre. Our son Liam uses a wheelchair, we were able to access all areas at the event centre with ease. Excellent disabled changing facilities which ensures inclusion for all and means we can attend events as a family, which is not always easy. Highly recommended, look forward to the next event.

What a difference a Changing Place makes!

The whole site is wheelchair accessible with level thresholds on the doors, doors that are wide. There are a number of disabled toilets around the site that are large and clean. They are well sign posted and visible from a great distance. The main exhibition halls are fully chair accessible with everything on the same level. The exhibition halls have disabled toilets but the thing that makes this venue stand out above others is the Rolls-Royce of Changing Places. The Changing Place is located in the exhibition hall and is fully equipped to meet the needs of those who require these facilities. We found them very clean and the quality of the equipment is of the highest standard. There is plenty of room for carers and due to the size there is ample privacy. The provision of this Changing Place sets The Yorkshire Showground out from many other visitor attractions and opens up all the great shows that go on there to everyone.

Yorkshire Event Centre has been designed as a level access venue with no corridors, gangways or internal stairs. We offer entrance ramps and double doors to both halls and automatic doors in the main entrance. All entrance steps are supported by handrails and both of our on-site cafes are located on the ground floor and are easily accessible. We have 6 disabled toilets across our halls and have recently installed a spacious Changing Places facility. We welcome assistance dogs on-site at events. We work with a locally based company to provide visitors with wheelchair and scooter hire.

Free priority disabled parking for blue badge holders is offered at all events. This parking is located conveniently to allow easy access to the event. We have an all weather surface on the route from car park to Halls.

Toilets features at Yorkshire Event Centre

Changing Places facility with step free access through wide door. Facilities include an adult size adjustable bench (wall mounted), hoist, peninsular toilet and height adjustable washbasin. The floor is non slip and a privacy screen is also available. The toilet is fitted with an emergency alarm. 6 disabled toilets. These facilities will be available for use during events held at the Yorkshire Event Centre, please contact us to check open times and availability for this facility outside of event open days.
